Le Corps Mince De Francoise – Something Golden (7th December on Kitsune)
Le Corps Mince de Francoise’s UK debut, Bitch of the Bitches, a sort of punky-pop electro fest, was released in April on Stimulus to rapturous applause. Now the three Finnish ladies with a French name are back, and they’re better than ever. With new album Love&Nature littered with production from Kaiku Studios Berlin (who are also working with Annie) and MIA and Major Lazers right-hand-man SWITCH (who is also working on the new Christina Aguilera album), LCMDF are set to prove themselves as rightful pop luminaries. As is evident from new single Something Golden, a song scattered with 90s-sounding dub beats and a howling chorus, the new direction transcends earlier comparisons such as CSS, Yelle, Robots in Disguise and Chicks On Speed, to adopt a much slicker, cleaner urbane sound. Something Golden has already been snapped up by Kistune Maison, and will feature on their Maison 8 compilation. The single features remixes from Crystal Fighters, Anglo-Argentinian future disco dancers Heartbreak, & Renaissance Man.
